I'm just seeing this thread for the first time, but I was going to comment that it could either be a failure in the VTM-4 system OR a different failure that has disabled the VTM-4 system causing the light to illuminate. In your case, it was obviously the latter.

While this VTM-4 dash light is on, and when the tires are really slipping, the yellow exclamation point indicator in a triangle flashes rapidly.
